Introducing Underwear for Humanity

To say we’re excited to bring this new brand to Brava is an understatement. Sustainability has always been a core value to us at Brava, so adding Underwear for Humanity to our sustainable lingerie edit is a really exciting addition for us. We are proud to be the first Australian retailer to offer Underwear for Humanity, and we can’t wait for you to come into store to touch, feel and purchase the popular cult-favourite crops!

So, what is Underwear for Humanity?

A conscious consumer brand, Underwear for Humanity dreams of a future where the fashion industry prioritises the plant and people over profits. With fast fashion on the rise and living outside our planetary boundaries, the need to make conscious fashion choices is more important than ever. The founder, Kelly Barret, is a trailblazer in creating a carbon-neutral fashion brand, she hopes and encourages more brands to operate this way in the future.

What materials are used?

The recycled bra crop D+ is made from GRS certified recycled nylon that is made from industrial waste and diverted from landfill. Underwear for Humanity also uses Oeko-tex certified safe dye-houses to protect our waterways, the people working with them and the end user who wears the product. Underwear for Humanity even invented their own recycled elastic when they couldn’t find a company that already did this! Their in-house elastic is a beautiful, soft elastic that is made from GRS certified recycled nylon.

What is the one-for-one underwear donation?

Kelly is incredibly proud that her products not only use recycled materials, she also donates one pair of underwear to a charity every time a pair is purchased. The donated underwear is special, its made from offcuts of fabrics, cancelled orders, or leftover fabrics to create unique styles – saving all this product from landfill!
